Jewelry Maintenance Guide

Callie's jewelry is created using shining gemstones and finest, responsibly sourced materials and designed for everyday wear. Your fine jewelry pieces are tailor-made to withstand real life, both emotional and financial investments. To preserve their beauty and shinny, you are advised to treat them with proper care or delicacy.

Basic Jewelry Care

1. Clean the jewelry after each use and occasionally wipe with a soft cloth.

2. Avoid direct contact with perfume, body lotions, hair sprays or other chemicals.

3. Remove jewelry when bathing, showering, or swimming.

4. Remove jewelry when participating in physical activities, such as cleaning and gardening.

5. Avoid direct sunlight, heat, or cold, especially stay away from humidity.

6. Jewelry should be stored separately in an air-tight jewelry box.

Storing Your Fine Jewelry

1. Hang necklaces or other jewelry for storage to prevent unnecessary entanglement and facilitate access.

2. Use jewelry storage boxes with doors or drawers to keep jewelry away from light. This also prevents the pieces from tangling and breaking.

3. Based on the design and shape of the jewelry organizer or box to place your jewelry. Never put them near a heater or in direct sunlight.

4. Clean your jewelry whenever dirt gets into the crevices or it shows signs of tarnishing. Ensure that it will not wear out over time when you are not wearing the jewelry.

Cleaning Tips

1. To maintain the original condition of your silver jewelry, polish your pieces regularly using a non-abrasive cleaning cloth.

2. Remember do not dry silver off with paper towels or tissues, always use a soft cloth.

3. When you are not wearing your silver jewelry, store them in a cooldry place. Zip-lock bags and individual cloth pouches are ideal for this and will help prevent both tarnishing and scratching by other pieces.

4. Never immerse your silver jewelry in chlorine, salt water, mineral springs, and suntan lotion. Remember, some household cleaners contain chlorine bleach; these will cause discoloration and also loosen the gemstones.

5. Avoid abrasive cleaners, detergents, and commercial jewelry cleaners "dips" especially if the pieces have an oxidized finish. Using harsh polishing cleaners will alter the antique look of your jewelry.

6. Never use an ultrasonic cleaner, ammonia, or any chemical solution to clean opaque gemstones, such as turquoise, malachite, onyx, lapis lazuli, and opals. They are porous stones and may absorb chemicals, which build up inside the stone and cause discoloration. Simply wipe them gently with a moist cloth until clean.

7. If your jewelry contains gemstones or pearls, do not immerse in water, as this can loosen some settings. Never use dips or abrasives cleaners on gemstones.

8. Other common chemicals and solutions to avoid: besides chlorine bleach, denatured alcohol, turpentine, acetone, and ammonia can cause harm. These chemicals can dull or even pit the surface of softer gemstones.

9. Gemstones and diamonds can easily be cleaned with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft brush. Clean your jewelry in a bowl of warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Dry your piece with a lint‐free cloth.

10. Softer gems, like pearls, can be scratched easily. Clean your pearls in warm, slightly soapy water, with a very soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and lay your pearls to dry on a towel or chamois.
